About
Anne Haddad is a writer who explores the Lebanese-American experience of fear, shame and unbreakable bonds that shaped the generations of her family and others in a diverse rust-belt city that boomed and contracted over the course of the 20th Century.
Born in Michigan City, Indiana, into a bilingual, multi-generational, blue-collar household, she graduated from Indiana University in Bloomington with a BA in journalism and worked as a daily newspaper reporter for more than 16 years, including 10 years at The Baltimore Sun. After leaving the Sun, she freelanced magazine articles on topics including film, health, education and community. She lives in Baltimore.
